Season Update - Home Matches at Starlight Coming Soon!

What a great start to the season for Pacific FC and the Lake Side Buoys!

So far Pacific FC is in a confident second on the 2021 season standings with 3 wins, 2 draws, and 1 defeat. Only Winnipeg's Valour FC stands ahead of us, but with three clean sheets in a row for Callum Irving, Pacific FC is moving in to wash away Valour's newfound swagger.

Recently we were thrilled to learn from a league announcement that as of July 30th Pacific FC will once again have home games! Full stadium capacity has been approved so be sure to clear your calendars and purchase your tickets as soon as possible! Here are all the dates for the 2021 PFC home games at Starlight Stadium:

If you cannot wait to get together with fellow PFC fans to watch a match, you can always join the Lake Side Buoys this Saturday, July 17th @ 6:30 PM at the Island Training Centre (2888 Kettle Lake Dr.) to watch PFC take on Forge FC. Tickets are required, but they are free. The club will be hosting a BBQ and is also selling beer at this event. All proceeds will go to the Red Cross to support the fight against BC Wildfires. For more information and to secure your free tickets click here.

When PFC is not hosting a fan watch event, but a PFC away game is on, you can always join the Lake Side Buoys at the Yates Street Taphouse. This is where many of us typically meet to watch matches. They have multiple screens to watch the game, friendly staff, tasty food, and loads of libations to keep you satisfied.

Also, we are happy to announce our Prideraiser campaign is currently at an amazing $101 perPacific FC goal for the Kickoff start of the season in Winnipeg. It's not too late to pledge your donation! All donated funds go to the Victoria Pride Society!

Hope to see you at the ITC, Starlight Stadium, or the Yates Street Taphouse soon!

PFC CPL Kick Off Pride Fundraiser 2021

Hello all Lake Side Buoys and fans of Pacific FC!

Supporter's Groups across the CanPL have planned a friendly fundraising competition using the Prideraiser platform for the initial Kickoff bubble.  So, you're not just making a donation, you're helping us raise more money than those other groups!

We are proud to announce that we will be raising funds this year for the Victoria Pride Society!  They are a non-profit, volunteer-based organization that is dedicated to supporting Greater Victoria's LGBTQ2+ communities.  They're most well known for organizing the annual Victoria Pride Festival & Parade, which has been hampered by the recent global pandemic. Nonetheless, they offer year-round programming and a vast directory of queer-owned businesses and resources.

You can find our Lake Side Buoys Fundraiser by clicking here!

We would love our members to pledge any one-time amount during this campaign, but why not make it interesting? The platform has been easily set up to accept a pledge for each goal scored across the 8 games of the CPL's Kickoff in Winnipeg.  We ask that you make a pledge of a minimum $1/goal, but would greatly encourage $5/goal.   For example, Pacific FC scored 16 goals across the 10 games played at the 2020 Island Games.

Please be as charitable as you can! Thank you for helping us raise money for the VPS and showing how much the Lake Side Buoys care about our community!

The Pacific FC 2021 Season Starts with "The Kickoff"

Recently, we learned through a Canadian Premier League announcement that the start of the 2021 Season will begin June 26th in a 'bubble' four-week event based out of Winnipeg's IG Field known as "The Kickoff". All teams will be temporarily be playing out of Winnipeg to ensure the utmost safety for players, team staff, managers, and the public. It is important to note for PFC fans that our club's first game is against the HFX Wanderers FC on June 26th at 2 PM PT* and can be watched on OneSoccer. The other PFC matches from The Kickoff are as follows:

        - July 1 v. York United FC @ 2 PM PT*
        - July 4 v. Forge FC @ 2 PM PT*
        - July 7 v. Atlético Ottawa @ 7 PM PT*
        - July 10 v. York United FC @ 2 PM PT*
        - July 13 v. HFX Wanderers FC @ 5 PM PT*
- July 17 v. Forge FC @ 2 PM PT*
  - July 21 v. Atlético Ottawa @ 7 PM PT*
  * All times and dates subject to change

Beyond the excitement of the upcoming games, there was a tsunami of other Pacific news that hit as well. A new league-wide “Community Edition” kit series was launched which included a purple PFC kit focused on details. Some noted details include a series of increasingly thick horizontal stripes in purple and the slogan “For the Isle” below our beloved Douglas Fir crest.

Additionally, the club announced the new signing of Christopher Lee, a left-sided fullback, on a U-Sport Contract. He was drafted by PFC from the UBC Thunderbirds back in January, but following this signing will be joining the squad in Winnipeg. Back in May the club also signed centre-forward Gianni dos Santos, an international from the Netherlands back in May. We also should not forget the signing of Northern Irish midfielder Ollie Bassett in April. PFC's wave of new talent will be crashing The Kickoff!

Keep your eyes locked on Lake Side Buoys’ social media accounts for supporters’ updates ahead of the 2021 season.
