Also in the Eddies’ Casa Grande, Arizona training camp is 5’9″ defender Diaz Kambere. The 26-year-old was born in Uganda but moved to British Columbia as a youngster and played for the Vancouver Whitecaps between 2006-2008, appearing in 28 matches. Kambere played PDL ball in 2010 with the Victoria Highlanders.

2012 Schedule Announced
The schedule is out and with 86 days until kick-off @ RAP the season is taking shape [Full fixture list below]
Unusually this year we open the seasons at home hosting the Seattle Sounders U-23 squad on May 12th - the former Tacoma Tide who were bought in the off-season by the MLS club as part of their development system. This means all three Cascadian MLS clubs now have development teams in the PDL.
The downside of the schedule is that we then have the Whitecaps for the first of two home encounters (May 13, June 9) the next day due to the unbalanced schedule created for this eight-team conference. The return fixture will be our final game of the regular season, Sunday July 8th when the Buoys will try to top the 2011 supporters road trip with an even larger presence away to the Whitecaps U23 squad.
The flip-side of the unbalanced schedule is that we make two trips to Abbotsford to play the Fraser Valley Mariners (June 3, July 2).

As 2012 dawns in Victoria with a day that might optimistically be described as mostly sunny there is a distinct feeling of anticipation in the air for the Buoys as we look forward to our fourth season in the PDL.

Notes from the AGM
Besides enjoying some tasty seasonal ales and good food we did a bit of business @ the Bard & Banker on Saturday. Thanks to all who were able to show up and endure far more business than was reasonable including adopting a charter, joining the ISC and giving our blessing to the formation of a supporters trust.
